Cristiano Ronaldo scored his 31st and 32nd 2 over Real Betis at the Benito Villamarin.

Betis led early through Jorge Molina and, after Gonzalo Higuain and Ronald had goals to put Madrid in front, tied the game at 2 in the 55th through Jefferson Montero.

But Ronaldo followed with his second goal of the match in the 73rd, as Madrid continued to roll in La Liga.

Real Madrid opened a 13-point lead over idle Barcelona, and took another step toward securing the crown.

Ronaldo extended his cushion atop the scoring charts over Lionel Messi to four goals, and Higuain quietly scored his 17th goal - which is third in La Liga.

Real Sociedad 3, Real Zaragoza 0

San Sebastian, Spain - Imanol Agirretxe scored twice as Real Sociedad defeated Real Zaragoza, 3-0, on Saturday at Anoeta in La Liga.

Agirretxe scored both goals in the opening half and Carlos Vela also scored in the first 45 minutes as Sociedad won for the third time in its last five games and sits mid-table.

Zaragoza lost for the third time in its last four, and remained on the bottom of the table on just 18 points.

Malaga 1, Levante 0

Malaga, Spain - Rondon scored the lone goal 6 minutes into the second half and Malaga moved ahead of Levante for fourth place Saturday in La Liga with a 1-0 win at the Estadio La Rosaleda.

Malaga won its third straight and for the fourth time in its last five to move into the final Champions League berth from Spain.

Levante lost for the third time in its last five and dropped to fifth, which is only good for a Europa League spot.

Sporting Gijon 1, Sevilla 0

Gijon, Spain - Andre Castro scored in the first half and Sporting Gijon ended a seven-match La Liga skid with a 1-0 victory over Sevilla on Saturday at El Molinon.

Sevilla had its three-game unbeaten streak snapped and lost more ground in the race for a European berth.
