Alex Tanguay posted a goal and three assists as 3 win over the Winnipeg Jets.

Jarome Iginla had a goal and two assists for the Flames, who have won their past two and have moved to just one point back of San Jose for the final playoff spot in the Western Conference. Miikka Kiprusoff made 42 saves in the win.

Tobias Enstrom posted a goal and an assist for the Jets, who have dropped their past two and remain tied with Washington for the final playoff spot in the Eastern Conference with 72 points.

Ondrej Pavelec was tagged for all five goals on 27 shots in the loss.

Calgary opened the scoring in the game with a pair of power play goals as Mark Giordano scored 3:54 in and Iginla added another three minutes later when he redirected an Olli Jokinen feed in front for his 28th goal of the season.

It was a 3-0 game at the 12:51 mark of the first when Matt Stajan scored on a wrist shot, but Evander Kane got Winnipeg on the board with 2:29 to play in the first.

The Jets cut their deficit to one with 29 seconds left in the opening frame as Blake Wheeler skated through the neutral zone and charged up the middle before slipping to the right and wristing it home.

Tanguay scored the only goal of the second period when he grabbed a loose puck off an Iginla turnover in the slot and took it to the left before wristing it home with 7:07 to play in the second.

Curtis Glencross gave the Flames a comfortable three-goal lead with a power- play goal with 7:32 to play.

The Jets made it a two-goal game with 6:12 left in the game when Jim Slater left a drop pass at the top of the left circle for Enstrom, who one-timed it home.

Winnipeg was given a power play moments later when Giordano flipped the puck over the glass for a delay of game, but was unable to score and couldn't get any closer the rest of the way.
