Castro homers as Cubs beat Brewers split-squad 6-1

Starlin Castro homered, Ryan Dempster pitched three scoreless innings and the Chicago Cubs beat a Milwaukee Brewers split-squad 6-1 on Saturday.

Dempster allowed two hits and walked two in his second spring start. He also greeted former teammate Aramis Ramirez with a fastball toward the helmet before getting the Brewers' third baseman to ground into a double play.

Darwin Barney added an RBI triple and Ian Stewart had two hits and scored a run for the Cubs, who have won four of five.

Milwaukee starter Chris Narveson gave up one run — Castro's fourth-inning homer — and two hits in 3 2-3 innings.

Brewers closer John Axford threw a perfect sixth inning and Alex Gonzalez homered for Milwaukee.
