The Edmonton Oilers activated rookie forward Hopkins from injured reserve on Saturday.

The 18-year-old had been sidelined since February 6 with a sprained shoulder in only his second game back following recovery from a left shoulder injury suffered on January 2 at Chicago.

Despite his extended absences, Nugent-Hopkins, the first player taken in last year's draft, has totaled 13 goals and 35 points in 40 games.

To make room on the roster, the Oilers assigned forward Anton Lander to Oklahoma City of the American Hockey League.
