Johnson's one-timer from the right point put Colorado ahead 1-0 with 46.9 seconds left in the first period.
Olver, playing in his first game of the season, lit the lamp at the 3:55 mark of the middle stanza. Ryan O'Reilly, who assisted on all three Colorado goals, made a cross-ice pass to Olver, who guided the puck into the back of the net.
Landeskog scored on the power play at the 9:37 mark to make it a 3-0 game. Paul Stastny controlled the puck along the goal line and fed a pass in front for Landeskog, who chipped the disc past Dubnyk.
"We got the results we were looking for tonight," Colorado head coach Joe Sacco said. "I thought O'Reilly's line had a real good game."
Jones put home a rebound with 5:19 left to make it a two-goal contest.
Varlamov made eight saves in the third stanza to seal Colorado's victory.
"We need to just keep pushing forward and learn from tonight," Oilers forward Sam Gagner said.
The Oilers have won three of five meetings against Colorado this season...
