Guadalajara was held without a goal 0 to Monterrey to remain at the foot of the standings.

Jesus De Nigris and Angel Reyna scored in a seven-minute span of the second half as Monterrey climbed within two points of the top. Guadalajara lost its fifth match this season, and sits 12 points off the pace with just one point.

On the other end of the table, Apertura champion Tigres rose to the top with a 2-0 win at San Luis on Saturday. Israel Jimenez and Lucas Lobos scored on each side of halftime as Tigres won its third straight to overtake Santos on goal difference.

Santos opened the door for Tigres with its first loss of the year Friday, 2-0 at Morelia. Miguel Sabah scored a brace for Morelia, which won its third match this season.

Also Saturday, Ivan Alonso scored his sixth and seventh goals to lift Toluca to a 2-0 win at Atlante, Jackson Martinez scored twice as Jaguares defeated Queretaro 3-0, Pachuca remained undefeated with a 2-0 win over U.A.G., and Atlas and America tied 1-1.

On Sunday, Luis Landin and Luis Garcia scored as Puebla won 2-0 at UNAM, while Cruz Azul also remained unbeaten with a 0-0 draw at Tijuana.
