Winnipeg, MB (SportsNetwork.com) - The Winnipeg Jets announced on Monday that forward Evander Kane was moved to the injured reserve list retroactive to Jan. 26.

The 22-year-old was held out of Winnipeg's last three games due to an infection in his right hand. He will not return to the ice until after the NHL's Winter Olympic break.

Kane initially hurt his hand while fighting with Tampa Bay Lightning defenseman Eric Brewer on Jan. 7, which caused him to miss four games before returning to action on Jan. 21.

The No. 4 overall pick of the 2009 NHL Draft ranks third among Winnipeg players with 15 goals this season despite sitting out 15 games. Kane previously missed time with a lower-body injury in early December.
