Giguere leads Avalanche past Kings

Jean-Sebastien Giguere made 25 stops to 1 win over the Los Angeles Kings.

Cody McLeod, Peter Mueller and Gabriel Landeskog all scored for the Avalanche, who have won three of their past four games.

Anze Kopitar had the lone goal for the Kings, who have dropped three of four. Jonathan Quick made 28 stops in defeat.

The first goal of the game went to the Kings at the 5:26 mark of the second period when Kopitar banged home a rebound at the right side off a Dustin Brown shot.

With just 6:25 left in the second, though, the Avs tied the game as Stefan Elliott sent a perfect saucer pass from his own zone to the Kings' blueline where McLeod was behind the defense and put the puck in.

With 1:05 to play in the second, Colorado took a 2-1 lead as T.J. Galiardi fired a shot on net from the slot that was tipped in by Mueller.

Colorado was able to seal the win with 1:57 to play on the man advantage. Landeskog held the puck at the top of the left circle and sent it over to Paul Stastny at the right circle. Stastny held the puck for a moment before feeding it back to the slot where Landeskog wristed it home.
