Cammalleri's SO tally lifts Flames past Kings

Michael Cammalleri scored the winner in the 1 win over the Los Angeles Kings at Staples Center.

In the second round, Cammalleri deked back to the forehand and buried his chance past Jonathan Quick. Mike Richards had the last chance for Los Angeles, but his wrist shot was stopped by Miikka Kiprusoff.

Jarome Iginla scored Calgary's regulation goal while Kiprusoff finished with 31 saves for the Flames, who snapped a two-game slide.

Dustin Brown scored the only goal of the game for the Kings, who have lost two of three but have points in the past six games. Quick made 24 stops.

"It was two pretty even teams out there tonight," said Los Angeles head coach Darryl Sutter. "No one wanted to give anything and it showed on the scoreboard. A real hard fought game."

The Kings scored just 3:28 into the game as a loose puck in the low slot was swept into the net by Brown.

The Flames, though, scored at the 9:15 mark of the second period on the power play as Olli Jokinen sent a pass from the right circle to the left circle and Iginla wound up for a big blast past Quick for his 502nd career goal.
