Renney provides update on Hall

Edmonton Oilers second-year forward Taylor Hall is doing much better one day after being injured in warmups prior to Tuesday's game in Columbus.

"Having spoken to him (Taylor) he's doing much better. I'd call him doubtful for tomorrow," head coach Tom Renney said on Wednesday.

Hall was injured when he took a tumble during warmups and slid into Ladislav Smid along the boards. Both players fell to the ice and fellow teammate Corey Potter tried to hurdle over them. Instead, Potter's skate made contact with Hall's head.

Hall was seen bleeding as he was helped to the dressing room. He was later scratched from the contest.

The Oilers are already missing forwards Jordan Eberele, who sprained his right knee on January 7 against the Dallas Stars, and 2011 first-overall pick Ryan Nugent-Hopkins, who is on injured reserve with a shoulder injury.

Hall, the 2010 first-overall pick, has 15 goals and 16 assists in 36 games this season.

The Oilers play at St. Louis on Thursday.
