The Seattle Mariners signed left-handed pitcher Oliver Perez to a minor league contract on Wednesday.
Perez spent the entire 2011 season with Double-A Harrisburg in the Washington Nationals organization. He went 3-5, 3.09 ERA with 58 strikeouts in 16 games, including 15 starts.
The 30-year-old Perez has appeared in 206 career games (195 starts) with San Diego (2002-2003), Pittsburgh (2003-2006) and the Mets (2006-2010), posting a 58-69 record with a 4.63 ERA with 628 strikeouts.
