Houston, TX – The Houston Astros and pitcher J.A. Happ agreed year deal worth $2.35 million, thus avoiding arbitration.
Happ finished 2011 with a 6-15 record in 28 starts and an earned run average of 5.35 in his second season with the Astros.
For his career, Happ holds a record of 25-24 in 88 games (72 starts) with an ERA of 4.00. Happ, who went 12-4 with a 2.93 ERA as a rookie in 2009, was acquired by the Astros on July 29, 2010 in the deal that sent Roy Oswalt to the Philadelphia Phillies.
