The Toronto Blue Jays signed center fielder year contract Sunday.

The deal is worth $2.7 million.

Toronto acquired Rasmus from the St. Louis Cardinals last season in a multi- player deal and the 25-year-old appeared in 35 games for the Blue Jays, recording a .173 average with 10 doubles, three home runs, 13 RBI and 14 runs scored.

Through three seasons with St. Louis and Toronto, the 28th overall pick of the 2005 draft is a career .251 hitter with a .322 on-base percentage, 74 doubles, 53 home runs, 171 runs batted in and 232 runs scored.
