Flushing, NY – The New York Mets signed infielder Ronny year contract Friday.
The 28-year-old spent last season with the Pittsburgh Pirates, batting .249 with 25 doubles, 32 RBI and 43 runs scored in 128 games.
He started 118 games at shortstop and ranked fourth in the National League with a career-high .978 fielding percentage. His other 10 appearances came at second base.
Through seven seasons with the Pirates, Cubs and Mariners, Cedeno is a career .246 hitter with 97 doubles, 33 home runs, 196 runs batted in and 223 runs scored.
