Jackets F Umberger sidelined indefinitely

Columbus Blue Jackets forward R.J. Umberger like symptoms.

The Dispatch reported on Thursday that the 29-year-old left practice earlier in the day and was examined by team doctors, presumably for the elbow to the head Umberger took from Anaheim Ducks defenseman Jean-Francois Jacques in Sunday's 7-4 loss at Anaheim.

Umberger finished that game, and played in Tuesday's 5-2 loss at Chicago, while Jacques was handed a three-game suspension for the play on Tuesday night.

Columbus interim head coach Todd Richards told the paper he did not witness Umberger suffering any side-effects.

Umberger has just seven goals and 18 points in 42 games for the Blue Jackets this season.
