The Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim kept Star on a four-year contract extension Monday.

The 28-year-old hit .285 with 18 home runs, 30 doubles and 63 RBI with 14 stolen bases in 140 games for the Angels in 2011 en route to his first career selection to the Mid-Summer classic.

Over a six-year pro career, all with the southern California franchise, the Jacksonville native is a career .292 hitter with 50 homers, 163 doubles, 18 triples and 305 RBI in 655 contests.

Kendrick's 552 games played at second base currently rank fifth in Angels history, and Sandy Alomar's 703 career appearances there should be within reach by the end of 2012.
