Former Brazil goalkeeper Marcos retired, club side Palmeiras announced.
Marcos spent his entire club career with Palmeiras, and played 29 matches for Brazil. He helped his country win the 2002 World Cup, and had a shutout in the final against Germany, a 2-0 win.
"After 20 years dedicated service to Palmeiras, the goalkeeper Marcos has decided to hang up his gloves," Palmeiras released in a statement.
The 38-year-old Marcos played over 500 games for Palmeiras from 1992-2012.
