Anderson leads Sens over Lightning

Craig Anderson stopped 35 shots, backstopping 1 win over the Lightning on Thursday.

Daniel Alfredsson had a goal and a pair of assists for the Senators, winners of four straight. Kyle Turris, Jason Spezza and Zack Smith also found the back of the net.

Dwayne Roloson made 20 saves in the loss, while Steven Stamkos scored his league-leading 28th goal of the season.

The game-opening goal came midway through the first, when Colin Greening lobbed the puck on net and Spezza drove the rebound though traffic and past Roloson.

The Senators made it 2-0 late in the second, courtesy of Turris' first goal of the season. The center, who arrived from Phoenix via trade in December, deflected an Alfredsson pass into the net at the 17:07 mark.

Stamkos extended his goal streak to five games midway through the third, shooting off one knee and beating Anderson to make it 2-1. But Smith answered at the 16:34 mark with a slap shot past Roloson and Alfredsson added an empty- netter with 53 seconds left.
