QPR signed Iceland forward Heidar Helguson 13 season Thursday.

Helguson, 34, has seven goals in 12 English Premier League matches this season as the newly-promoted club has four wins and five draws through 18 matches. He first played for QPR on loan in 2008, and signed with the club in 2009.

"I fought tooth and nail to keep Heidar here over the summer, because I knew he could be a threat for us in the Premier League," QPR manager Neil Warnock said.

"He's proved time and again what a good player he is. He's more than earned this new deal - no-one deserves it more."

QPR is 16th in the standings, three points above the relegation zone, and will visit Arsenal on Saturday.
