The Washington Nationals signed veteran year contract on Wednesday.

DeRosa spent the past two seasons with the San Francisco Giants, but injuries limited him to only 73 games.

Despite his recent struggles to stay healthy, the Nationals are enamored with DeRosa's versatility. The 36-year-old has started games at six different positions during his career.

DeRosa has hit .272 with 179 doubles, 93 home runs and 452 RBI since debuting with Atlanta in 1998. He has also played for the Rangers, Cubs, Indians and Cardinals.
