Hoffenheim announced Wednesday that the club has completed the signing of Sandro Wieser from Swiss club FC Basel on a deal that will keep him at the Sinsheim club until June 2016.
Wieser, 18, emerged through the Basel youth ranks and forced himself into the first-team squad. The midfielder was born in Liechtenstein and has racked up ten caps for his country.
Ernst Tanner, Hoffenheim's general manager, expressed his pleasure in signing the youngster.
"We're pleased to be able to tie down, on a long-term contract, a German- speaking player who is also a top talent," Tanner said in a statement released on the club's website. "He already has experience of international football with his country, despite his young age, and has already proved his potential. Here he will find the perfect conditions to continue his development and establish himself in the Bundesliga."
