Arizona Cardinals rookie cornerback Patrick Peterson will not need surgery after an MRI revealed no tears to his injured left Achilles tendon.
Peterson suffered the injury while making an interception in Saturday's 23-16 loss to the Bengals. He left in the third quarter and did not return.
The 5th overall pick in April's draft, Peterson has excelled on special teams, tying an NFL record with four punts returned for touchdowns this season. He will be re-evaluated Wednesday for practice.
