The Philadelphia Union acquired Costa Rica left back Porfirio Lopez on Thursday, one day after signing Panama international midfielder Gabriel Gomez.

Lopez, 26, has not played internationally for Costa Rica, but has enjoyed some success on the club level, most recently helping Costa Rica's Alajuelense win back-to-back titles.

He made his pro debut with Santos de Guapiles in 2005, and also had a spell at Puntarenas in his home country. Lopez then joined China's First Division with Dalian Haichang, but after 10 matches, joined Alajuelense.

Lopez will join the Union upon receipt his P-1 Visa and International Transfer Certificate. Per MLS and Club policy, terms of the deal were not disclosed.
