Werder Bremen announced on Monday that the club has given contract extensions to coach Thomas Schaaf and director of football Klaus Allofs.

Both Schaaf and Allofs had contracts that were set to expire this summer, but after nearly 13 years of service at Bremen, both will be staying on beyond the end of the season.

Schaaf, who is currently the longest-tenured coach in the Bundesliga, signed a two-year extension while Allofs will remain with the club for three more years.

During the time that both have been at Bremen, the club captured a league and cup double in 2004 and won the DFB-Pokal again in 2009, while also reaching the final of the UEFA Cup in the same year.

Bremen enters the winter break in fifth place in the Bundesliga table with 29 points from 17 matches.
