The Washington Wizards re-signed swingman Maurice Evans on Friday.

Evans was acquired by the Wizards midway through last season in a trade with Atlanta and appeared in 26 games (12 starts) for Washington, averaging 9.7 points, 2.8 rebounds and 27.4 minutes while shooting 43.9 percent from the floor.

"Mo was a very good midseason addition to the team last season and we are excited to have him back with us," said Wizards president Ernie Grunfeld. "In addition to the versatility and athleticism he brings to the lineup, he gives us another solid veteran presence along with Rashard Lewis, Roger Mason and Ronny Turiaf that balances nicely with our core of young players."

In 538 career games with 123 starts for Minnesota, Sacramento, Detroit, the Los Angeles Lakers, Orlando, Atlanta and Washington, the 33-year-old averages 6.7 points and 2.5 rebounds, and is a 44.4 percent shooter.
