Officials with the Chicago Bears say they're aware of the arrest of wide receiver Sam Hurd on drug charges and the team is looking into what happened.

Hurd was arrested Wednesday night. Federal authorities contend he told an undercover agent that he was interested in buying up to 10 kilograms of cocaine and 1,000 pounds of marijuana per week to distribute in the Chicago area.

In a statement Thursday, team officials say: "We are disappointed whenever these circumstances arise. We will deal with them appropriately once we have all the information."

Hurd's agent hasn't returned a message seeking comment.
