Cavs' Davis out indefinitely

Cleveland Cavaliers guard Baron Davis is out indefinitely with a bulging disc in his lower back.

The team has no timetable for Davis' return.

Davis, whose injury is at the "L2-3" point in the spinal column, played in 43 games for the Clippers last season before being traded to Cleveland in February. In 58 total contests last year, Davis averaged 13.1 points, 6.7 assists and 2.7 rebounds.

The 12-year pro out of UCLA has career averages of 16.5 points, 7.3 assists and 3.9 rebounds over 806 games (678 starts) with the Hornets, Warriors, Clippers and Cavaliers.

Center Semih Erden will miss three weeks with a broken right thumb. In addition, forward Omri Casspi (knee) and guard Daniel Gibson (tooth) are listed as day-to-day.
