The Los Angeles Galaxy made a big splash in Entry Draft on Monday.
The reigning MLS champions selected four new players and two players from their 2011 roster, scooping up goalkeeper Jon Conway, defenders Andrew Boyens and Chris Leitch, and forward Pat Noonan, as well as returning Galaxy players Dasan Robinson and Frankie Hejduk.
The Chicago Fire and Seattle Sounders also made moves. Chicago took Kheli Dube from New England and Seattle hijacked Marc Burch from D.C. United.
All teams who selected players on Monday will have seven days to make a contract offer, while players on the draft board who were not taken can be negotiated with on a first-come, first-serve basis.
Several MLS veterans were not taken, highlighted by the league's all-time leading scorer Jeff Cunningham. Bouna Coundoul, Chris Albright, Stefani Miglioranzi, and Pat Phelan were also neglected in the draft.
