Montpellier had its eight-game undefeated streak snapped, as it allowed PSG to pull level on 36 points atop the standings. Montpellier still leads, but only on goal differential.

Valenciennes, which had lost its last two fixtures, moved two points above the relegation zone after just its fourth win of the season.

PSG just snapped a three-game winless skid last week, and Gameiro helped it to its second straight win when he turned Javier Pastore's pass into the bottom- left corner to finish off a quick attack in the 20th minute.

The Paris club won its 11th of the season, tied with Montpellier for most, and trails the leaders only on goal differential.

But Niculae turned Jung Jo-Gook's headed pass into the top-right corner deep in stoppage time as Nancy avoided its third straight loss.

Nancy climbed one place to 18th, while Ajaccio saw its winless skid reach 12 games and it remained buried at the bottom of the table.
