Pronger, Schenn out indefinitely

Philadelphia Flyers defenseman Chris like symptoms.

"While Chris' knee is improving, he has struggled with other issues that are concussion-like symptoms," said Flyers general manager Paul Holmgren in a statement Friday. "Chris will see Dr. Joe Maroon and Dr. Mickey Collins on Wednesday, December 14 in Pittsburgh for further evaluation. Chris will be out indefinitely."

Pronger has missed the last eight games due to a mystery virus followed by left knee surgery. He also was out of action for almost three weeks after being struck in the face with an errant stick.

The 37-year-old has been effective when healthy, totaling one goal and 12 points in 13 games this season.

In addition, young forward Brayden Schenn will also be out for the foreseeable future.

"Brayden reported 'not feeling himself' on December 5," according to Holmgren. "Our doctors believe he has a mild concussion. Brayden will be out indefinitely."

Schenn hasn't played since last Saturday at Phoenix. He has yet to record a point in six games with Philadelphia this year.
