New Haven, CT – Stanford senior quarterback Andrew Luck has been named the 2011 winner of the Walter Camp Award, honoring the college football player of the year as voted by coaches and sports information directors.
Luck finished another stellar season ranked fifth nationally with a 167.50 pass efficiency rating while throwing for 3,170 yards and a school-record 35 touchdowns. He threw just nine interceptions and led the Cardinal to a Fiesta Bowl appearance with an 11-1 record.
Luck, last year's Heisman Trophy runner-up, is the first Stanford quarterback since Jim Plunkett (1970) to receive the award.
