Shegog leads No. 18 UNC women past Lipscomb 95-53

Chay Shegog had a career-high 26 points and 11 rebounds, leading No. 18 North Carolina to a 95-53 victory over Lipscomb on Wednesday night.

It was the senior center's third double-double of the season and the 16th of her career.

The Tar Heels (6-1), who hadn't played since their 103-84 loss at then-No. 16 Penn State last Wednesday, got a career-high 21 points and 11 rebounds from Krista Gross for her first double-double of the season.

Freshman Danielle Butts had a season-high 16 points, while Candace Wood added 14 for her first career double-figure game.

UNC used only eight players, as senior forward Laura Broomfield (foot) and freshman guard Shannon Smith (hamstring) rested injuries.

Hannah Phillips led Lipscomb (2-9) with 12 points while Anna Bowers added 11.
