The New York Mets made it official on Wednesday and traded outfielder Angel Pagan to the San Francisco Giants in exchange for pitcher Ramon Ramirez and outfielder Andres Torres.

Ramirez appeared in 66 games for the Giants last season and was 3-3 with four saves and a 2.62 earned run average. The 30-year-old right-hander owns a career mark of 20-17 with eight saves and a 3.16 ERA in six seasons with Colorado, Kansas City, Boston and San Francisco.

Torres had fallen out of favor in San Francisco last season, hitting just .221 in 112 games after batting .268 the previous year. The 33-year-old veteran is a career .244 hitter with 27 homers for Detroit, Texas and San Francisco.

The Mets appear to favor Torres' defense to Pagan, a below-average defender who saw his average dip nearly 30 points last season to .262. The 30-year-old switch-hitter spent the past four years with the Mets after playing two seasons with the Cubs and is a career .279 hitter with 33 homers.
