The National Hockey League suspended Nashville Predators forward Jordin Tootoo two games without pay for his actions during Saturday's game against Buffalo.

Tootoo crashed into Sabres goaltender Ryan Miller at the 15:54 mark of the second period. He carried the puck down the left wing against Sabres defenseman Christian Ehrhoff and cut hard toward the net. After having the disc knocked off his stick, Tootoo peeked in at Miller before crashing into him.

"Although Ehrhoff does make body contact, we do not feel it was significant enough that it altered Tootoo's path into Miller," NHL senior vice president of player safety Brendan Shanahan said.

Tootoo was assessed a major penalty for charging and game misconduct on the play, and is eligible to return December 10 against Anaheim.

He will forfeit $13,513.52, which goes to the Players' Emergency Assistance Fund.
