Vancouver Canucks starting goaltender Roberto Luongo left Tuesday's game against the Colorado Avalanche in the second period.

Luongo took a slap shot from Avalanche forward Matt Duchene underneath his chin and immediately fell to the ice.

The training staff came to check on Luongo, who eventually got to his feet and was speaking with the team's head trainer, but left the game and was replaced by backup Cory Schneider.

Luongo came in 8-6-1 this season with a 2.90 goals-against average and an .896 save percentage. He stopped all 13 shots he faced before leaving the game.
