Vancouver, BC – Vancouver Whitecaps FC announced Monday that goalkeeper Jay Nolly has been traded to the Chicago Fire in exchange for a first round pick in the 2012 Major League Soccer Supplemental Draft.
Nolly started 11 of Vancouver's first 12 MLS matches, but surrendered 16 goals en route to a 1-4-6 record. He was subsequently benched in favor of Joe Cannon.
Vancouver also announced that it has re-signed Cannon as well as midfielder John Thorrington, making both players ineligible for the Re-Entry Process. Per club and league policy, the terms of the deals were not disclosed.
