Flames put G Karlsson on IR

Calgary, AB – The Calgary Flames have placed goaltender Henrik Karlsson on injured reserve with a sprained MCL in his right knee.

Karlsson suffered the injury during Sunday night's game against the Vancouver Canucks.

In six games, including five starts, this season, Karlsson is 0-4-1 with a 3.48 goals-against average.

Calgary recalled goaltender Leland Irving from Abbotsford of the American Hockey League. In 23 games this season for Abbotsford, Irving is 15-7-0 with three shutouts and a 2.30 GAA.
