Cookeville, TN –  There will be no six-way tie for the Ohio Valley Conference championship.

Tennessee Tech made sure of it.

The Golden Eagles ripped Austin Peay, 49-7, on Saturday to claim a share of the OVC title and the conference's automatic bid to the FCS playoffs. Tre Lamb rushed for three touchdowns to fuel the victory.

The Golden Eagles (7-3, 6-2) shared the title with at least Eastern Kentucky. Jacksonville State would make it a three-way tie by beating Tennessee State.

But the Golden Eagles beat both EKU and JSU in head-to-head meetings earlier this season, earning the automatic playoff bid.

Heading into Saturday's final day of OVC action, the possibility existed for a six-way tie for the conference title between Tennessee Tech, Eastern Kentucky, Jacksonville State, Murray State, Tennessee State and UT Martin.

The FCS playoff pairings will be announced Sunday morning.
