The Ottawa Senators struck for a trio of period goals and rode that momentum to a 5-2 win over the Edmonton Oilers at Rexall Place.

Craig Anderson made 12 of his 22 saves in the third for Ottawa, which has won three straight games since a five-game skid. The Senators improved to 3-1-0 on their six-game road trip.

Devan Dubnyk replaced Nikolai Khabibulin to start the middle stanza and stopped seven shots for the Oilers, who have lost four in a row and five of six.

Despite being outshot 8-7, the Senators held a sizeable lead through 20 minutes.

Colin Greening and Kaspars Daugavins scored nine seconds apart for the visitors and Milan Michalek tallied with 57 seconds remaining to make it 3-0 heading into the second period.

Anton Lander put Edmonton on the board when he streaked down the right wing and fired a wrister past Anderson at the 2:14 mark of the second. The short- handed tally was the first of his career.

Jesse Winchester restored Ottawa's three-goal cushion and Zenon Konopka made it 5-1 in the third.

Ryan Jones netted a power-play goal for Edmonton in the final minute.
