No. 21 Cincinnati routs Alabama State

Cincinnati, OH – Yancy Gates scored 15 points and grabbed 11 ranked Cincinnati Bearcats opened the season with a 40 rout of the Alabama State Hornets.

Dion Dixon added 14 points for the Bearcats (1-0), who went 26-9 last season and advanced to the third round of the NCAA Tournament. Sean Kilpatrick donated 13 points and nine boards.

Kenderek Wasington tallied 18 points and eight rebounds for the Hornets (0-2), who lost 67-49 to Marshall on Friday. Luther Page ended with 12 points and eight boards.
