Houston Texans running back Arian Foster, Pittsburgh Steelers linebacker LaMarr Woodley and New York Jets return specialist Joe McKnight have been named the AFC's top players for the month of October.

Foster captured the offensive award after totaling an NFL-best 809 yards from scrimmage during October. He ran for an AFC-high 499 yards and added 310 receiving yards while scoring five touchdowns for the Texans, who were 3-2 during the month.

Woodley posted 25 tackles, 7 1/2 sacks and one interception to garner the defensive honor, helping the Steelers to a 4-1 record for October. He has recorded two sacks in each of the past three games.

McKnight picked up the special teams award after returning 11 kickoffs for 443 yards during the month. His 107-yard kickoff return for a touchdown in Week 4 was the longest play in Jets history.
