The hosts controlled the first half and nearly took the lead through Kwadwo Asamoah, whose effort from the middle of the penalty area was kept out by a nice save from goalkeeper Alexandros Tzorvas.
Dusan Basta and Mauricio Isla also went close for Udinese, but the opening goal arrived after 38 minutes when a right-wing cross from Basta was volleyed home from 12 yards by Di Natale.
Palermo began to create a few chances in the second half but Udinese missed two great opportunities to extend its lead as Di Natale missed the target from close range with just the 'keeper to beat, while Pablo Armero struck the post 15 minutes from time.
Palermo has now lost three of its last four games and drops to ninth place.

Siena, Italy - A goal in each half from Mattia Destro helped to extend Siena's unbeaten streak to four games on Sunday as the hosts came away with a 4-1 win over Chievo.
Destro scored the lone goal in the first half and doubled the lead for his side in the 57th minute before Gaetano D'Agostino made it 3-0 to Siena on the hour mark.
Davide Moscardelli pulled a goal back for Chievo with 15 minute to play, but Emanuele Calaio responded for Siena with a goal in stoppage time.
Lecce 1, Novara 1
Lecce, Italy - Struggling sides Lecce and Novara played to a 1-1 draw on Sunday, leaving both teams in the bottom three.
Lecce entered the contest having lost five of its last six games but the home side went ahead on the half-hour mark with a goal from Rodney Strasser.
Novara has also been in poor form having gone winless in its last five games, but a successful penalty kick from Marco Rigoni a few minutes before halftime secured a point for the visitors.
Bologna 3, Atalanta 1
Bologna, Italy - Bologna continued its good run of form on Sunday by securing a 3-1 home win over Atalanta.
Atalanta struck first through German Denis in the sixth minute, but Marco Di Vaio equalized from the penalty spot just before halftime.
Bologna started the season in poor form but got second-half goals from Gaston Ramirez and Simone Loria to claim a third win in four games, moving three points clear of the relegation zone.
Florence, Italy - Fiorentina snapped a five-game winless streak on Sunday as Andrea Lazzari's first-half goal handed the Viola a 1-0 victory at home against Genoa.
The lone tally of the match came five minutes before halftime as Manuel Pasqual's cross was finished off nicely by Lazzari, while Fiorentina nearly doubled its lead in the second half when Alessandro Gamberini hit the crossbar.
Genoa had earned five points from its previous three games but falls behind Fiorentina with the defeat.
Lazio 3, Cagliari 0
Cagliari, Italy - Miroslav Klose scored his sixth goal of the season as Lazio rolled to a 3-0 win over Cagliari on Sunday in Serie A.
Senad Lulic opened the scoring in the 39th minute, Klose followed in the 44th, and Tommaso Rocchi capped the victory with a goal in the 88th.
Lazio won for the fifth time during a six-fixture unbeaten streak, and climbed to third in the standings and level on points with second-place Udinese.
Cagliari is winless in four straight games.
Parma 2, Cesena 0
Parma, Italy - Parma won for the third time in five games on Sunday as the hosts toppled winless Cesena 2-0.
Parma brought a two-game losing skid into the match but took the lead in the 41st minute as Gabriel Paletta scored from the middle of the penalty area following a corner kick.
The second goal also came from a corner midway through the second half with Alessandro Lucarelli finishing off his goal from close range.
