Giampaolo Pazzini beat Buffon a few minutes later in the 32nd, only to see his shot ricochet off the crossbar, and Juve responded with the match-winner off a quick attack in the 33rd.
Matri and Marchisio worked a quick passing combination at the top of the area, with the last pass putting Marchisio into space for a perfect low finish from 17 yards that curled around Castellazzi and inside the right post.
Juve made the score line stick as it continued its resurgence in Serie A, and left Inter Milan looking for answers ahead of its Champions League match with Lille on Wednesday at the San Siro.
