Los Angeles Dodgers reliever Hong-Chih Kuo had arthroscopic surgery on his left elbow Friday.

The 30-year-old made 40 appearances for Los Angeles in 2011, going 1-2 with a 9.00 earned run average. Kuo has compiled a 13-17 record, 13 saves and a 3.73 ERA in 218 career games (14 starts) -- all with the Dodgers since 2005.

It was the fifth time Kuo had surgery on his elbow. The latest procedure was done to remove a loose body and scar tissue.
