Blackburn signs Lowe to new five-year deal

Blackburn, England – Blackburn signed 19-year-old Jason Lowe year contract Friday, locking up the England youth international through the summer of 2016.

Lowe, who can play fullback or in central midfield, has played six games this season in the English Premier League. The former England Under-20 captain and current U-21 player has also appeared in the Carling Cup.

"I'm delighted with his progress, Stuart Pearce is as well for the under-21s, and I believe he has a long and successful career ahead of him," Blackburn manager Steve Kean said.

Blackburn currently sits at the bottom of the Premier League standings, and visits Norwich City on Saturday.
