A pair of first-half goals from Leigh 2 win at St Mirren on Saturday.

Griffiths was handed the opener after six minutes by St Mirren goalkeeper Craig Samson, who tried to elude the striker after taking a back pass but ended up giving him the ball and an easy goal.

But St Mirren took the lead midway through the half with two goals from Paul McGowan within a three-minute span to go in front 2-1.

Hibernian equalized within three minutes when Sean O'Hanlon got up to head home a cross from David Wotherspoon, and the visitors took the lead shortly before halftime as Garry O'Connor set up the second goal of the game for Griffiths to put his team up 3-2.

The second half tightened up but the win wasn't secure until a late save from Hibernian goalkeeper Graham Stack denied Steven Thompson at close range.

Motherwell 0, Kilmarnock 0

Motherwell, Scotland - Motherwell was denied a fourth straight SPL win on Saturday by some nice goalkeeping from Kilmarnock's Anssi Jaakkola as the two sides played to a 0-0 draw at Fir Park Stadium.

Jaakkola produced a fine stop on Motherwell's Chris Humphrey early in the match before making a double save to keep out shots from Steve Jennings and Michael Higdon at the beginning of the second half.

Killie also went close as Gary Harkins hit the post for the visitors, who have now gone winless in six games.

Dundee United 0, St Johnstone 0

Dundee, Scotland - St Johnstone finds itself in fourth place after a 0-0 draw at struggling Dundee United on Saturday.

St Johnstone entered the match having won four of its last five games to climb up the SPL table. And although the visitors managed few scoring chances, they had the best opportunity of the game to claim all three points.

The chance arrived early in the second half from a free kick as Garry Kenneth smashed his shot against the crossbar from 30 yards, while United had a few efforts of its own go close but fail to find the net.

The result leaves the home side with only two wins through 12 games this season.

Inverness 1, Dunfermline 1

Inverness, Scotland - A late penalty kick from substitute Liam Buchanan allowed Dunfermline to claim a 1-1 draw at Inverness on Saturday in a battle of the bottom two sides in the league.

Dunfermline appeared on its way to a fourth straight defeat when Inverness took a 1-0 lead into the final five minutes courtesy of a first-half goal from Gregory Tade.

But Buchanan earned his team a penalty kick when he was tripped inside the area by David Proctor, and he picked himself up and fired home the equalizer four minutes from time to prevent Dunfermline from dropping to the bottom of the table.
