Report: Jerome Harrison has brain tumor

Trades enable players a fresh start. Now, it appears one might have actually saved a life.

According to the Philadelphia Inquirer, the proposed trade of Jerome Harrison to the Eagles was rescinded because the 28-year-old running back was found to have a brain tumor.

The Detroit Lions dealt Harrison, who played in eight games for the Eagles in 2010, and an undisclosed draft pick in 2013 to Philadelphia for running back Ronnie Brown on Tuesday.

A physical performed by the Eagles voided the deal and the exam apparently revealed Harrison's tumor, which would not have been discovered without the trade and the subsequent tests.
