Jason Campbell is hopeful that his season is not over.
According to the Oakland Tribune, the Raiders quarterback was scheduled for surgery Monday on his broken right clavicle, but envisions a return in six weeks.
It was originally reported that he was done for the year.
Campbell was injured in the second quarter of Sunday's tilt against Cleveland. He stretched for a first down after scrambling as Browns linebacker Scott Fujita landed on top of him. The quarterback immediately began clutching his upper right arm when he stood up, and walked gingerly back to the locker room.
Kyle Boller took over for Campbell and threw for 100 yards on 8-of-14 passing, as the Raiders defeated the Browns 24-17.
Campbell, who is in the final year of his contract, has passed for 1,170 yards with six touchdowns and four interceptions this season.
According to ESPN, the Raiders reached out to free agent quarterbacks David Garrard and Josh McCown. The team has also shown interest in Cincinnati quarterback Carson Palmer.
Garrard, however, is no longer an option because he needs surgery for a herniated disc.
