Paul Menard will start on the pole for Friday night's Dollar General 300 Nationwide Series race after posting the quickest lap in qualifying at Charlotte Motor Speedway.
Menard, who is driving the No.33 Chevrolet for Kevin Harvick Inc., turned a lap at 185.701 mph for his second pole of the season and the fourth of his Nationwide career.
Ricky Stenhouse Jr., the current points leader, secured the outside pole with a lap at 185.452 mph.
Brad Keselowski, who won last Saturday's race at Kansas, qualified third, followed by Joey Logano and Carl Edwards.
Kyle Busch, a six-time Nationwide race winner at Charlotte, took the sixth spot, while Sam Hornish Jr., Brian Scott, Brian Vickers and Justin Allgaier completed the top-10.
With four races to go, Stenhouse holds a 20-point advantage over Elliott Sadler, who will start 12th.
Kenny Wallace will roll from the 20th position in what will be his 519th career Nationwide start. It will place him in a tie with Jason Keller for most all-time starts in NASCAR's second-tier series.
Carl Long, Matt Carter, Casey Roderick, Dennis Setzer, Mark Green and Chase Miller failed to qualify.
The 300-mile race at Charlotte is scheduled to start just after 7:30 p.m. (et).
