Anaheim Ducks defenseman Kurtis Foster has accepted a conditioning assignment in the American Hockey League.
The club announced the move on Thursday, that Foster, who recently had surgery to address inflammation in his left thigh related to leg surgery from March of 2008, will play in the minors in anticipation of an eventual return to the Ducks.
The 29-year-old posted eight goals and 22 points in 74 games with the Edmonton Oilers last season. He was dealt to Anaheim on July 1 for defenseman Andy Sutton.
